It's a go. All the roads are there, and all the dirt roads are in excellent and very ridable conditions. Here are some photos from Swains and my day. It was a long day as ride time along was over 6hrs. This Saturday will be your first of two chances to complete the Breezer True Hilly Hundred.
Swain and I had a marvelous time that included one flat tire, two spokes then came unthreaded, and running into the old Marian cycling coach before Ken, who happend to have a spoke wrench. Yes!
The Start at Starbucks in Martinsville.
Riding around the country side.
The bottom of "The" dirt road climb.
Lick Creek Climb.
Are first planned stop on the ride.
Swain coming across the covered bridge getting ready for the accent.
The last dirt road/climb of the ride. Like Swain likes to put it, it's kind of like opening the last Christmas present.
Just like the two years ago I flatted on the last dirt road a half mile away from the pavement. All fairness to the tire I did have a tube with a slow leak and was running on less then 80 psi at this point.
Are you excited yet? 6 days to go. Video to come.
